Grand Street BID
On the border of Bushwick and Williamsburg neighborhoods in Brooklyn, NY is a cultural bridge - Grand Street - a busy street where older and newer cultures co-exist to pursue their businesses, connect with each other, and thrive in one space.
Chris Jehly was invited to paint a mural completely improvisationally, his specialty. The location is Grand Street Seafood, a Bushwick staple fish market that has been a landmark of the area for decades. What were once peeling, rotted gates are now vibrant explorations of color, freeform shapes and stimulating gradients that give even more life to this busy and cultural vibrant intersection.
